FEBRUARY IS READING MONTH AT aRROWHEAD elementary!
Our theme: Get Spotted Reading
Children's Book Author, Kim Norman, visited our school on Monday, February 2nd to kick off our reading month activities with two great assemblies for our students. Ms. Norman is the author of ten great children's books, including Puddle Pug, Ten on the Sled, I Know a Wee Piggy, Crocodaddy, and Jack of All Tails. Arrowhead Reading Prize Patrol: Families who choose to participate will pledge to read together each weekday evening during the month of February. Families will be given a sign to display on their front door, and their names will be entered into a takdrawing to receive a surprise visit fromt he Prize Patrol. The AES Reading Prize patrol will award three lucky families a basket full of books, a balloon, and a giant certificate. Visits will take place Monday, March 2nd between the hours of 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. Videos of the presentations will be recorded and aired on AETV.
Buddy Reading: On Monday, March 2nd, Arrowhead will wrap up reading month with a buddy reading activity. Older students will be paired with younger students to read together. Popcorn snacks will be provided too!
Book Banners: Each class has a book banner outside their classroom highlighting the books read during the month.
Door Decorating Contest: Each class decorated their door like a favorite children's book. Check out some of the fantastic entries!
